Milestone Events

Each year, we celebrate new milestones within our communities with special events.

Past Milestone Events include:

Lighting of the Paris Falls at the Penman's Dam
Visit downtown Paris & see the beautiful lights
being reflected on the Penman's Dam. The lights were
installed with the support of the Paris Firefighter's Club, the
Brant Waterways Foundation, Brant Municipal Enterprises
and Brant County Power. The lights will run daily and
change for special events and seasons.

St. George Barn Quilt Trail
Completed in 2014, the 12 blocks of the trail in St. George
represent various aspects of the Villages 200 year.
From lilies to apples these blocks celebrate all that reminds

Walter Williams Amphitheatre
The New Walter Williams Amphitheatre replaced the the 47 yr old bandshell.  Many events and activites take place at the Apmphitheatre including the Summer Concert Series "Music in the Park".

War of 1812 Malcolm's Mills - 200th Commemoration of "Last Shot Fired"
2014 was a big year in Brant as we commemorated the "Last Shot Fired" War of 1812 in Oakland, the celebrations for St. George's bicentennial and the 20th anniversary of the Grand River's Canadian Heritage Designation.

St. George's Bicentennial Celebrations
Year-long celebrations are planned in St. George including the Heritage Fair, Barn Dance and July 1 Canada Day Fireworks, including a parade to celebrate the bicentennial. Visit the Events Calendar for more information on these events.

20th Anniversary of the Grand River "Canadian Heritage Designation"
2014 marked the 20th anniversary of the Grand River's designation as a Canadian Heritage River.
