Milestone Events

Each year, we celebrate new milestones within our communities with special events.

Past Milestone Events include:

Lighting of the Paris Falls at the Penmans Dam
Visit downtown Paris & see the beautiful lights
being reflected on the Penmans Dam. The lights were
installed with the support of the Paris Firefighter's Club, the
Brant Waterways Foundation, Brant Municipal Enterprises
and Brant County Power. The lights will run daily and
change for special events and seasons.

St.George Barn Quilt Trail
Completed in 2014, the 12 blocks of the trail in St. George
represent various aspects of the Villages 200 year.
From lillies to apples these blocks celebrate all that reminds
us of St.George. Visit the trail today - find more information

Walter Williams Amphitheatre
The New Walter Williams Amphitheate is being constructed at
Lions Park in Paris - this will replace the 47 yr old bandshell.
There will be Grand Opening Celebrations and many other
special events planned throughout the Summer

War of 1812 Malcolm's Mills - 200th Commemoration of "Last Shot Fired"
2014 was a big year in Brant as we commemorated the "Last Shot Fired" War of 1812 in Oakland, the celebrations for St. George's bicentennial and the 20th anniversary of the Grand River's Canadian Heritage Designation.

St. George's Bicentennial Celebrations
Year-long celebrations are planned in St. George including the Heritage Fair, Barn Dance and July 1 Canada Day Fireworks, including a parade to celebrate the bicentennial. Visit the Events Calendar for more information on these events.

20th Anniversary of the Grand River "Canadian Heritage Designation"
2014 marked the 20th anniversary of the Grand River's designation as a Canadian Heritage River.
