Landfill and Transfer Station

The County of Brant is home to the Biggars Lane Landfill and Paris Transfer Station for solid waste and recycling disposal/drop off.

Staff is available at transfer and landfill stations to help you find the appropriate areas for your recyclables and waste.

Paris Waste Transfer and Recycling Station

This transfer station is operated to allow residents the opportunity to drop off small amounts of solid wastes and recycling items.

Monday and Wednesdays: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Saturdays: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm (April 1 to October 31)
Saturdays: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (November 1 to March 31)

The Transfer Station is closed on all Statutory Holidays.

Changes to the hours of operation, if required, are published here and through public notices in the local newspaper.

Biggars Lane Landfill Site

This landfill is where you can drop off large loads (i.e. more than a fully loaded pick-up truck box or equivalent). These are not accepted at the transfer station and must be taken to Biggars Lane Landfill.

The landfill is closed on all Statutory Holidays.

Fees and Charges

Current rates are available on the fees and charges schedule.

Tipping fees payment can be made by cash, cheque, debit or credit (Visa and MasterCard only). Credit accounts can be set up for IC & I users.


Recyclable and reusable materials must be sorted. Doing so conserves valuable land fill space and generates revenue which directly offsets the cost of operating your waste management facilities.

Users are required to sort the following materials for recycling and reuse:

  • Cardboard
  • Some electronic wastes (for a current list of acceptable electronic wastes please visit
  • Scrap metal
  • White goods (fees apply for CFC removal and handling)
  • Tires
  • Batteries
  • Propane tanks
  • Cement, Asphalt, Bricks
  • Wood (must be sorted from the other waste streams)
    • painted, stained, veneer, wooden furniture (no upholstery), pressure treated, wooden doors are acceptable
    • No shingles, drywall, or other construction debris is to be placed in the wood disposal area
  • Brush and yard waste (must be de-bagged from plastic bags)
  • Bulky Plastics (i.e. lawn furniture, pails, children's outdoor toys, agricultural field cover, etc.)
  • Please note: Grass clippings are banned from curbside collection and disposal at the waste management facilities
  • All blue box materials - recycling carts are provided
    There is no charge for blue box materials at the Waste Management Facility

Notice:  All loads to be tarped to reduce debris on roadside. Loads that are not secured may be refused.
