Police

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) provides policing services for the County of Brant.

The 2014 Detachment Business Plan overviews facts and figures, community information and the 2014 to 2016 Business Plan.

The Ontario Provincial Police is pleased to offer Citizen Self Reporting, an alternative reporting option that allows the public to report specific crimes to police via the internet, anywhere, anytime. The OPP's Citizen Self Reporting system allows members of the public to use a computer or mobile device to report an incident, without requiring an officer to attend the scene.

Citizen Self Reporting is simple and convenient and can be used when reporting incidents that do not involve injury or a suspect, or a crime that is not an emergency. The use of this new system is completely optional. Police will still attend a call for service if desired.

County of Brant Police Services Board

The County of Brant detachment is overseen by the Police Services Board, a civilian team that meets regularly and is responsible for strategic planning. The Police Services Board gets its authority through the Police Services Act.

Paris Community Policing

Volunteers and new members are always welcome to join the Paris Community Policing meetings.

The Paris Community Policing Committee works together to inform the OPP of any traffic, vandalism or safety concerns in the community. They also support and participate in a variety of events, community organizations and safety programs.

Meetings are held at the OPP station at 28 Mechanic Street in Paris at 7:00 p.m. every second Thursday of the month except July and August.
