Onondaga & Middleport – A “Grand” Idea Spend the morning at the Twin Valley Exotic Animal Farm. Located on Langford Church Road. It is here that you will see a variety of indigenous animals (fox, deer, elk) and exotic animals (lions, tigers, monkeys) in a rural setting. All aboard the Grand River Dinner Cruise! Spend the afternoon aboard the area’s only cruise along the Grand River. The cruise is a wonderful way to see the Grand River. The cruise includes an introductory video, and commentary en route. The luncheon cruise includes a musical quartet performance and the dinner cruise provides visitors with a gourmet roast beef dinner.
A visitor is certain to enjoy the picturesque town where the Grand and Nith Rivers meet. The rivers enrich the experience by proving tourist the opportunity to dine in an open-air café; hike the in-town rail trails along the Rivers; or rent a canoe for the afternoon and get reacquainted with nature. End your day by visiting Orchard Home Farm Apple Orchard located just off Highway 24 north. The Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead, birthplace of the co-founder of the Women’s Institute Movement, also makes for a great stop. Or perhaps a trip to the village of Troy (just east of St.George) to visit Donn Zver Pottery. If you visit the village in the fall, make sure to stop at the award winning Joseph Smith lily garden. St.George is also home to two established Antique Show and Sales annually. One in April, the other on the Labour Day long weekend.
