FINAL PROJECT UPDATE
The County of Brant has prepared a Transportation Master Plan following Phases 1 and 2 of the
Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. On December 16, 2008, County Council
passed a resolution to adopt the Transportation Master Plan to guide the development of the
County's transportation system over the next 25 years.
This Master Plan:
- Identifies existing and anticipated future levels of travel demand on a County-wide basis;
- Coordinates with transportation planning of other road authorities and municipalities, including
the Ontario Ministry of Transportation and the City of Brantford;
- Outlines objectives to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and services for
the continued economic growth and prosperity of the County;
- Provides new guidelines and policies for road classification, goods movement, transit planning,
Traffic Impact Studies, access management and recreational trails;
- Has been conducted in conjunction with the County's Official Plan Update process;
- Proposes that recommendations of the Master Plan be implemented into the New Official Plan;
and
- Recommends that review and revision occur as required a minimum of every five years, ideally
in conjunction with the County's Official Plan review.
