How may I purchase the small piece of County owned property that
adjoins my land?
Submit a request to the administration office, Legal Department. Staff will
examine the parcel and determine if the County wishes to retain it or
deem it surplus and offer it for sale following procedures set out in
the Municipal Act. A fair market value price will be set out and charged
to the purchaser as well as the costs of selling the land.

The information contained on your tax bill comes from the Assessment Office
in Brantford and they can answer any concerns.

to help you locate in which municipality a parcel of land may be situated.
Property Standards
What can be done about a junky yard?
The County has a property standards by-law that imposes maintenance standards.

What can be done about overgrown weeds or grass?
Certain noxious weeds are dealt with by the County Weed Inspector, and
others are through the property standards by-laws. Contact the By-law
Enforcement Officer for assistance in determining what action is needed.
I'm planning on installing a pool. What are the requirements?
Before installation, a permit is required from the Building Department

Who is responsible for keeping the sidewalks clear in front
of my house?
Residents are responsible for clearing the snow from the sidewalks adjacent
to
their property.
I have a dispute with my neighbour over a fence. What can I
do?
You must file a notice with the Municipality on a prescribed form. The
County has fence viewers who can mediate the dispute and assign costs.
