Do I need to license my dog?
Yes, all dogs over the age of 3 months must be licensed on or before the
31st day of March in each and every year. Tags can be purchased over the
counter at any County of Brant Customer Service Office or by mailing to the County administration building.
What do I do if my dog gets lost?
Notify us at (519) 449-2451 or 1-888-250-2295 as well
as Hillside Kennels at 1-888-469-3247.
What do I do if find a stray dog or an injured animal?
If the dog is wearing a dog tag, call (519) 449-2451 or 1-888-250-2295,
between the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Staff
can locate and notify the owner by the tag number, or contact Hillside
Kennels 1-888-469-3247 for pick-up. If the dog is not wearing a tag, call
Hillside Kennels directly to request the dog be picked up. For emergency
response for injured animals call Hillside Kennels.
What do I do if I am the victim of a dog bite or attack?
Call the Brant County OPP at 1-800-310-1122, or between the hours of 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday - Friday, contact
us at 519-449-2451 or 1-888-250-2295 to report the incident. The Health Unit will be contacted to investigate the incident and verify current
rabies vaccination status.
Is there a limit of how many dogs a resident can own?
Yes, three dogs.
What if my livestock is injured or killed by a dog, coyote or
wolf?
Call the livestock valuer in your area. The following is the current list
