403 Notice

Highway 403 and Rest Acres Road Ramp Closures Next Week (April 20 to 24)

The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has advised that next week (April 20 to April 24), between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, intermittent ramp closures will be taking place on Highway 403 at Rest Acres Road (Hwy 24). Motorists should plan for delays if travelling in the area.

The MTO manages highway maintenance across the province. Visit the Ontario 511 website for up-to-date information on closures.

The County of Brant is introducing Residential BIA Owner Parking Permits, providing residential property owners with the option to temporarily obtain or hold parking permits for untenanted units. This initiative offers added flexibility during leasing or purchase transitions for both existing and new dwelling units within the Paris Business Improvement Area (BIA).

Construction on Hutchings Road in Paris will begin on Monday, April 20. 

What and where is the construction happening?

  • Widening of Hutchings Road, east of the Hutchings roundabout on Rest Acres Road, north of the Highway 403 interchanges.

When?

  • Monday, April 20 to approximately end of May 2026

Why?

  • To widen eastbound lanes on Hutchings Road to create a left turning lane and a through lane for traffic.

On April 14, 2026, the Council of the County of Brant adopted By-law 42‑26, approving the Rural Prosperity Community Improvement Plan (RPCIP) under Section 28 of the Planning Act. The RPCIP applies to the County of Brant outside of the settlements of Paris, St. George and Burford. This Plan provides financial incentive programs to support rural economic development, housing, and agriculture-related and tourism-related business growth.
