2025 Holiday Garbage and Blue Box Collection Schedule

Both Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on regular collection days this year, which means curbside garbage and recycling will be picked up one day later than usual.
Revised Collection Days (Regular Collection Day → Holiday Collection Day):
- Thursday, December 25 → Friday, December 26
- Friday, December 26 → Saturday, December 27
- Thursday, January 1 → Friday, January 2
- Friday, January 2 → Saturday, January 3

Syl Apps Community Centre Turf Update

We are pleased to announce that repairs at the Syl Apps Community Centre are now complete, and the facility is open for regular programming and rentals beginning today, Thursday, December 4.

The County of Brant is currently accepting Spring/Summer ice requests for 2026. All requests will be considered, and ice will be allocated in accordance with the County of Brant, Sport Facility Allocation Policy after the January 15, 2026, 4:00 pm deadline. This policy along with the Facility Cancellation Policy and Recreation Facility Booking Policy can be found at //www.brant.ca/ice

Ward 5 By-election

At its meeting on December 2, 2025, the County of Brant Council passed By-law 121-25 authorizing a by-election to fill the vacant Ward 5 Council seat. In accordance with the by-law, the following key dates have been established:
- Nomination Day: January 30, 2026
- Election Day: March 16, 2026

Please note that some areas scheduled for garbage and recycling pickup today, December 3, 2025, will not be completed by 5:00 pm. Our collection crews are working diligently and hope to finish by this evening.
If your materials have not been collected by 8:00 pm, you may either:
- Leave them curbside overnight, or
- Bring them in and place them back at the curb by 7:00 am tomorrow for pickup by end of day.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Help us clear the streets faster, Brant! During a snow event, please remember:
- Keep Roads Clear: Parked cars are a snowplow's biggest challenge. Please avoid parking on the street if possible, especially on streets that haven't been plowed yet.
- Shovel Sidewalks: Property owners and occupants must clear their sidewalks within 24 hours after snow accumulation ends. This helps keep our community safe for pedestrians.
- Don't Dump Snow: It is illegal to deposit snow from your property onto the road.
