Flag Raising for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This morning, the County of Brant raised the flag at Council Chambers in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Flags are lowered to half-mast as we honour the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never made it home. 

In recognition, Penmans Dam in Paris will also be lit orange beginning this weekend.

Friendly reminder that all County of Brant outdoor fields and ball diamonds will close for the season on October 1, 2025. The Cricket Pitch at Brant Onondaga Park will remain open until October 6, 2025.

A heartfelt thank you to our local sports organizations and residents who came out to enjoy our parks this summer. Your teamwork, dedication and community spirit make these spaces come alive each season, and we’re grateful for the memories created together. 💛

Downtown Dig Progress Update: September 26, 2025

Progress is happening! The sidewalk on the west side of Grand River Street North is fully installed and open to the public!

The sidewalk on the east side of the street will be installed once hydro servicing is complete.  We will keep you informed.

Wear orange on Tuesday, September 30 – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 

This day honours the survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never made it home. It is a time to reflect, learn, and continue the path toward healing and reconciliation.
