Taxes are due July 31, 2023

A friendly reminder that taxes are due on July 31, 2023. Tax bills have been mailed.

There are a number of ways you can pay your taxes. Do not pay your taxes at the bank.

Municipal taxes can be paid in the following ways:

1. At a Customer Service Office in Burford (26 Park Ave. Burford) and Paris (66 Grand River St. N., Paris), open Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.

2. In the drop boxes at the addresses listed below:

St. George: 7 Gaukel Dr., St. George

Please be advised that due to staff training Public Swim times at the Paris Community Pool have changed for Thursday, July 20 and Thursday, August 3.

Public Swim will take place from 2:00-3:30 pm.

Salute to Brant registration is open!

The County of Brant is pleased to announce registration for the 2023 Salute to Brant Business event is now open. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, September 21 at the TF Warren Group Cainsville Community Centre.

“We are very excited to host this year’s event at the new TF Warren Group Cainsville Community Centre,” said Zach Gable, Director of Economic Development and Tourism. “Join us as we celebrate our County of Brant Businesses and honour our Salute to Brant 2023 Award winners.”

Cleaver Road Bridge Closure

The County of Brant has recently completed a structural evaluation of the Cleaver Road Bridge over Whitemans Creek, as part of the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual guide.

Based on this evaluation, the Cleaver Road Bridge needs to be closed to all traffic in the immediate future. The current condition of the bridge is not fit for vehicular traffic.

County of Brant staff will put the necessary barricades and signs in place to close the bridge July 17, 2023. The closure will be immediately north...

GRCA Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety

The Grand River Conservation Authority is issuing the following Watershed Conditions Statement – Water Safety.

A slow-moving weather system crossed the Grand River watershed overnight Wednesday, resulting in 50-70mm of rainfall in northern and central portions of the watershed. While this rainfall will not result in flooding, river flows are higher than normal for this time of year. Recreational users on local waterways should be aware of the current conditions and exercise additional caution....
