Reminder: Fall/Winter Turf Requests 2025/2026 Due

The County of Brant is currently accepting requests for the 2025-2026 Fall/Winter Indoor Turf Season (October 14, 2025 to April 30, 2026)
Please submit the necessary forms no later than Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 4:00 pm. Any submissions after the due date will be dealt with on a first-come, first serve basis, if turf time is still available.

The County of Brant is warning residents about fraudulent text messages claiming to be related to Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) penalty orders or parking tickets.
The County of Brant does not send text messages regarding ASE penalty orders or parking infractions. Official penalty notices are sent by mail only.

Heat warning issued for Brant starting July 24, 2025

The Medical Officer of Health for Grand Erie Public Health has issued a heat warning, effective July 24, 2025.
A heat warning is issued when Environment and Climate Change Canada forecasts two consecutive days with a maximum daily temperature of 31°C or higher during the day and a minimum temperature of 20°C or higher during the evening, or a humidex of 40°C or higher. The warning will remain in effect until a cancellation notice is issued.

Garbage and Recycling Collection Delay on Wednesday, July 23

Please note that some areas scheduled for garbage and recycling pickup today, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, will not be completed by 5:00 pm. Our collection crews are working diligently and hope to finish by this evening.
If your materials have not been collected by 8:00 pm, you may either:
- Leave them curbside overnight, or
- Bring them in and place them back at the curb by 7:00 am tomorrow for pickup by end of day.

Burford's King Street Parkette: What We Heard and What's Next

Thank you to everyone who attended the Burford King Street Parkette Open House on March 5, 2025, and to those who shared their thoughts online!
Following the Open House, we also posted two draft concept designs for the community to review and vote on. We received 41 survey responses, and 59% of participants chose Concept 2 as their preferred design.
But the feedback didn’t stop at just picking a favourite. Many of you shared helpful suggestions to improve the space — and we listened.
