Grand River Street North Construction – Water System Upgrade

Location: Grand River Street North between Banfield Street and Fishers Lane

Work Dates: Monday August 14 to Friday September 8 2023

Work Performed by: Xterra Construction Inc. for County of Brant

Reason: Municipal Water System Upgrades

Note: Lane restrictions on Grand River Street North between Banfield St. and Fishers Lane. One lane of traffic will be maintained for northbound and another for southbound traffic. All lanes will be open on the weekends.

Grand River Street North Construction Update

Construction on Grand River Street North in Paris has begun. Works include the replacement of watermain and sanitary sewers from 100 metres south of Trillium Way to Hartley Avenue. This is the first phase of a multi-year project for upgrades to Grand River Street North as recommended through the Grand River Street North Corridor Environmental Study Report and the Paris Master Servicing Plan.

County of Brant Achieves 4th Consecutive Platinum Certification from World Council on City Data

The County of Brant is proud to announce that it has received Platinum certification from the World Council on City Data (WCCD) for the fourth consecutive year. Cleaver Road Bridge Closure

The County of Brant has recently completed a structural evaluation of the Cleaver Road Bridge over Whitemans Creek, as part of the Ontario Structure Inspection Manual guide.

Based on this evaluation, the Cleaver Road Bridge needs to be closed to all traffic in the immediate future. The current condition of the bridge is not fit for vehicular traffic.

We’re experiencing a high number of oversized cardboard set outs at collection.

Please note, cardboard must be placed accordingly for proper pickup:

• Cardboard, including pizza boxes with minimal food residue, are accepted for recycling
• Flatten boxes and place small pieces loose in your blue box and tie larger pieces with light string or packing tape in bundles no larger than 0.8m x 0.8m x 0.25m (32” x 32” x 10”).

The County of Brant continues to support local businesses with the Digital Main Street Digital Transformation Grant program.
