Rural Water Quality Program - Well Decommissioning

Do you have an old well on your property? Properly decommissioning (plugging and sealing) unused wells is essential to protect groundwater from contamination, protect people and animals from safety hazards, and comply with legal requirements. Abandoned wells act as direct channels for pollutants, such as fertilizer or bacteria, to enter groundwater and threaten drinking water.

At the Airport Board meeting on November 17, 2025, a resolution was introduced recommending that Brantford City Council submit a request under Section 174 of the Municipal Act, 2021, asking the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to examine potential restructuring options for the Airport lands. The Airport is owned and operated by the City of Brantford, while the underlying land is within the jurisdiction of the County of Brant.

Hwy 403 and Rest Acres Ramp Closures for week of March 23

The County of Brant has received notification from the Ministry of Transportation indicating that for the week of March 23 -27, 2026 the on and off ramps at Highway 403 and Rest Acres Road will experience intermittent closures between Monday – Friday, 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.  Ramps will not be closed at the same time and only as needed for construction activities. The Brant Plants Tree Sale is back for 2026! The County will be selling trees at a subsidized rate in both the Spring (April) and Fall (September).

The Spring Tree Sale will run online at brant.ca/COBconnect from Monday, April 13 – Friday, April 19. If you do not have a COBConnect account, we encourage you to make one prior to registration.
