What’s happening downtown?
This week:
- Hydro service connections began on the east side of Grand River Street North, south of Cobblestone Commons.
- Hydro work will continue at the corner of William Street and Grand River Street North to pull the hydro around the corner to continue service connections.
- Preparation for streetlights continue.
- Planters are being installed on the west side of Grand River Street North...
Filming Notice - Parking and Traffic Restrictions for downtown St. George

Filming will take place in downtown St. George from Monday, October 20 to Wednesday, October 22, 2025. During this time, residents can expect parking restrictions, intermittent traffic stoppages, and film equipment in reserved parking spots, parking lots, and on sidewalks.
All stores will remain open during their regular business hours, except for Joro Flowers (41 Main Street South) and Main Gift and Décor Gift Shop (32 Main Street South), which will be closed for filming.

Amazon to Build New Delivery Station in the County of Brant

Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is Coming Up on Monday, October 20, 2025!

County of Brant Council approved the use of fireworks during Diwali. Fireworks are permitted only on the day of Diwali, October 20. If you're planning to light up the sky this year, please use caution and make sure to follow the Fireworks Bylaw to keep yourself and your neighbors safe.
Here are some important guidelines to remember:
- You must be over 18 years old to purchase or discharge fireworks.
- Family fireworks can only be discharged on the day of Diwali and the Lunar New Year.

Friendly reminder that Urban Area Yard Waste Collection is next week, October 20-24!
Curbside yard waste collection is offered to residential properties within urban areas in the County of Brant. Materials are to be set out by 7:00 am on your regular collection day in paper bags/open top rigid containers and bundles of limbs/ branches under 7.5 cm (3 in.) in diameter (max. bundles size 2 ft x 4 ft.).

Household Hazardous Waste Day for County residents will take place this Saturday, October 18 at the Mohawk Street Landfill (20 Morrison Road, Brantford) from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Household hazardous waste includes materials such as paint, solvents, used oils, batteries, and fluorescent light bulbs. These items should not be disposed of in household garbage due to their harmful effects on the environment, humans, and animals.
