Community Centre Update on Thursday, January 15

The following community centres will reopen today, Thursday, January 15, at 4:00 pm, for scheduled rentals:
- Brant Sports Complex
- Burford Community Centre
- Gaukel Memorial Community Centre
- Syl Apps Community Centre

Snow on the Roads and Parked Cars

Good morning, Brant! We are getting a lot of snow today. Plows will be working to remove snow as efficiently as possible. Please remove your vehicle from the street. Parked cars are the plows biggest obstacles.
As the snow continues today, the plows may need to clear the same roads several times. There are 2200 lane kms in the County! This will take time. Roads are plowed in order of priority. We will get to all the streets. Thank you for your patience!

The County of Brant is pleased to announce that Ron Budreau has accepted the position of Executive Director of Brant Municipal Enterprises (BME) effective January 12, 2026.

Cold notification issued for Brant starting January 14

The Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for Grand Erie Public Health is issuing a Cold Notification for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford-Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk), effective January 14, 2026.
A Cold Notification is issued, by the MOH, when parts or all areas of the region are expected to reach temperatures below -15 ºC, or when wind chill values reach -20 ºC.
The notification will remain in effect until a cancellation notice is issued.
