Park and River Access Closures on April 3, 2025

Please be advised that the following County of Brant parks and river access points are closed due to flooding until further notice:
- Bean Park in Paris
- Optimist Park in Paris
- Eric Thomlinson Access Point in Glen Morris
We urge the public to stay cautious around all bodies of water. With current weather conditions, rivers and creeks are flowing quickly and banks are particularly slippery posing significant risks. Stay safe!

The Downtown Dig April Update and Open House Tonight

Please note the Grand River Street North Road Reconstruction scheduled to begin next week has been postponed to approximately the end of April to accommodate the completion of Enbridge’s natural gas infrastructure replacement project. The reconstruction is phase 2 of the Downtown Dig Project.

Location: Dundas Street East from East of Willow Street and Paris Road to Oak Park Road
Work Dates: Monday, April 7, to late December 2025
Work Performed by: L82 Construction Ltd for County of Brant
Reason: Full road reconstruction including watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer, as well as road resurfacing with new curbs and sidewalks.

- West River Street between Mechanic Street and Broadway Street West
Work Dates:
- Monday, April 7 to late July 2025, end date to be determined

Reason:
- Full road reconstruction including replacement of watermain, storm, sanitary sewer, and road resurfacing.

Tennis Courts Keys are now available for purchase

The tennis season is almost here! Tennis courts are open annually from mid-April until Thanksgiving weekend.
To use the tennis courts in Paris and St. George, a key is required. Residents can obtain one for $21.47 per family, which is good for the whole year.
How to purchase a key- Visit Brant.ca/COBConnect and select sign in/up

Grand Erie Public Health Well Water Testing

Did you know that the Grand Erie Public Health offers free well water testing for residents whose drinking water comes from a private well?
Water samples are tested for two types of bacteria: total coliforms and E. coli.
- Total coliforms. These bacteria are often found in animal waste, sewage, soil and vegetation. If they are in your drinking water, it means contaminated surface water may be entering your well.
