When do you need a Public Works Permit

• Dumpster, bin, scaffold, machinery temporarily on the sidewalk, parking area, or road
• Excavation in the road allowance to install services, ditches
• Entrance/driveway - new entrance, widen, move or repave entrance
• New water or reconnection to existing service (inspection, connection, and/or frontage fees may apply)
• New sewer or reconnection to existing service (inspection, connection, and/or frontage fees may apply)

How to apply for a permit

• Contact us to find out which permits your project requires
• You may need to set up an appointment with Public Works staff to review the requirements of your project
• Review the fees and charges webpage for the applicable permits
• Complete the Public Works Permit Application (PDF)
• Submit application via email, mail or in person to the County of Brant 

How to pay for a permit

• Payments for Public Works Permits can be made by cash, debit, Visa or Mastercard (online or in person), or cheque made out to the “County of Brant”.
• Online payments can be made on the Public Works Permit Online Payment form.
