Monthly Building Reports

The Building Division produces monthly reports for building permit activity within the County of Brant.

Annual Building Reports

In accordance with Section 7(4) of the Building Code Act, the County of Brant Building Division publishes an annual building financial report. 

Building Permits Records Search

The Building Permit Records Search request provides information with respect to building permits that have been issued by the County of Brant for a noted property.

A request fee is required to be paid at the time of the request.

Please be aware we do not have as-built drawings, the proposed drawings are for the purpose of permit issuance only. Changes may have occurred on site that have not been documented and the drawings may not reflect these changes. There is no guarantee that all types of documentation are available for every property.

Records held by municipal governments are regulated by the Municipal Freedom of Information and protection of Privacy Act (website). MFIPPA states that, in general the public has a right to see most of these records and can obtain copies of them (fees may apply).

Septic System Records

A sewage system records search is available when you are looking to obtain your septic records for a renovation application, buying or selling a house or to locate your current system.

Notes:

• We do not have records prior to 1999.
• We only have records for properties we receive an application for.
• The owner must provide the property deed or a current property tax bill as proof of ownership.

Quality of Documents

Permit submission requirements have evolved over time, and older application records are less comprehensive than modern-day submissions. Technology used to scan, and store records has improved significantly, so older records may not be of the best quality. While we will do our best to find the information you have requested, we cannot guarantee that the information/documentation you need is available.

A service fee will apply, which includes the search time. The initial fee is non-refundable. Please allow 5 to 10 business day time frame for processing.
