The Bylaw applies to fill that is required or generated by development sites and large projects. The Site Alteration Bylaw does not apply to small landscape projects which are defined as less than 20 cubic meters of fill.

A deposit is also required to address any potential damage to the roads from trucks hauling material to and from the site.
If you do not have an approved permit, you are subject to penalties in accordance with the By-Law.
It is important the County carefully monitor development and large projects to ensure truck traffic is better regulated, prevent contaminated soils from entering the County and causing environmental damage, reduce the damage to our roadways and preserve important archeological features.
