Agriculture

Agriculture is one of the largest sectors in the County of Brant and is a fundamental staple of the community. The County of Brant strives to support this sector through education, tools for diversification and leveraging opportunities for Agri-tourism and direct selling to public.

Brant Farms for All

Brant Farms for All is the brand that represents Agri-marketing in the County of Brant. A number of these signs have been installed in front of agri-businesses, and participating farms are featured in the County of Brant Farm and Market Guide.

Conestoga College

The County of Brant and Conestoga College have established the Agriculture Equipment Operator program operating in the County of Brant at Conestoga's airport campus. This 16-week program give students the skills to succeed in the industry of agriculture and offers significant hands-on experience in safely performing basic machine maintenance and operation of various pieces of agricultural equipment.

On Farm Diversified Uses

The County of Brant's Development Services division have updated policies to help reduce the timelines, fees, and applications attributed to establishing a use on a farm property in order to help diversify our agriculture economy. 

Creative and Cultural Industries

The County of Brant is rich in Arts, Culture and Heritage! Our communities are vibrant and creative places that are inspired by a deep appreciation for the natural beauty and lively history of the area's places and spaces. The County boasts a wide variety of community organizations, cultural businesses, festivals and events as well as heritage destinations to explore.

Manufacturing

The County of Brant is well-positioned as a hub for manufacturing. Centrally located in southern Ontario, Brant offers connection to major innovation hubs and travel routes. Located 100 km away from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) and the Canada/USA border, Brant is central to millions of potential customers. 

With access to Highway 403 and being located less than 30 minutes to Highway 401 and the QEW, Brant is well connected to one of the world's largest transportation ecosystems. Brant is also central to multiple national and international airports, having John C. Munro International Airport, Region of Waterloo International Airport and Toronto Pearson International Airport within 100 km, businesses are an hour away from being connected to the world.
