The County of Brant is seeking two (2) Fence Viewers to act as appointed fence viewers under the Line Fences Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. L. 17, and one (1) individual to act as Livestock Valuer under the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program and the Protection of Livestock and Poultry from Dogs Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. L. 24.
Appointed members will be called on an as needed basis and will be compensated $80 per visit plus mileage per the County of Brant Fees and Charges By-law.
Fence Viewers
Persons interested in being a fence viewer should have a broad knowledge of the County of Brant area and be prepared to respond to requests for inspections as required by the municipality, usually within one week of being notified. Fence viewers should preferably have a working knowledge of the Line Fences Act and a farming/agricultural or construction background. Livestock Valuer
Persons interested in being a livestock valuer should demonstrate a working knowledge of the Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program and a possess a background assessing and identifying livestock and poultry values, condition of livestock and poultry, and related veterinary services. They must be able to carry out an investigation within 72 hours of receiving notice, and complete reports as required under the regulations.
