Communities in Bloom Resources

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting to explore the joys of planting, you'll find helpful tools and tips to support your gardening journey. From advice on starting planting to connections to local gardening and horticulture groups, these resources are here to help you grow with confidence and make your garden shine for Communities in Bloom.

Local Gardening and Horticulture Groups

If you're looking for support or have questions about gardening, the County of Brant is home to several resourceful gardening and horticulture groups that are happy to assist with questions.

Glen Morris Horticultural Society

The Glen Morris Horticultural Society is a member of the Ontario Horticultural Association (OHA) District 6. Our Society plants and maintains 15 community gardens in the small village of Glen Morris. We hold General Meetings 7 months of the year that are open to everyone. In June, we hold a Plant Sale plus a Bus Trip which is a very popular activity that sells out quickly. Throughout the school year, we visit the Glen Morris Central Public School to offer horticultural crafts to students.

Their ongoing mandate is to provide horticultural advice to the general public through volunteering at garden tours and community events as well as delivering talks and making information available on line on topics such as ‘Gardening for Nature’ with native plants and how to grow your own food.
