County of Brant Government Relations Committee
The purpose of this committee is to develop, coordinate, implement and monitor government relations strategies, based on Council endorsed advocacy positions, with Members of the Provincial Legislature, the Provincial Government, members of the Parliament of Canada, the Government of Canada, and related governmental agencies; to organize meetings with elected officials and their staff, as well as community stakeholders/organizations; and monitor activity with major municipal sector associations. (Example: Association of Municipalities of Ontario , Federation of Canadian Municipalities, Rural Ontario Municipal Association, South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation, Western Ontario Wardens’ Caucus] and collaborate on engagement strategies with these organizations.
