County of Brant License Tribunal
The County of Brant Licensing Tribunal hears appeals and provides decisions about licensing made under the County’s Business Licensing By-law and Vehicle for Hire By-law. The Tribunal is an independent committee consisting of three (3) Councillors as appointed by Council for a four-year term. The Tribunal provides an unbiased and transparent appeal process regarding licensing issues, which balances the protection of the public interest with an applicant or licensee’s right to be heard. Decisions made by the Tribunal are final and legally binding.
When a licensing decision has been made by the Licensing Officer and an appeal has been filed in accordance with Business Licensing or Vehicle for Hire By-law, the Tribunal has the authority to:
- Approve or refuse an application for a license
- Approve or refuse the renewal of a license
