Meet Councillor Brian Coleman

Councillor Brian ColemanMeet Councillor Brian Coleman - Ward 5

Councillor Brian Coleman has been a resident of the County of Brant for his whole life.  Born and raised, he is a dedicated dairy farmer in the Onondaga area. 

As a child, he attended a one-room school Number 6 Public School, a two-room school Number 5 Public School and Onondaga Central Public School.  

He is married to Joan and together they have three children and six grandchildren, all whom reside in the County of Brant. 

Being part of the community has been an important aspect of Councillor Coleman’s life.  He was a member of the Onondaga Fire Station for 23 years.  He is also actively involved in a number of farming organizations and has held positions such as past President of Holstein Ontario and the Ontario Dairy Youth Trust Fund and the past President and Chair of the Brant County Milk Producers, to name a few.  He has been a Board Member of the Grand River Conservation Authority since 2003.

Councillor Coleman was elected on Council in 2003.   Throughout the years, he has been involved in a number of committees. He served as the Chair of the Public Works Committee, the past Chair of the John Noble Home Committee of Management and the past Chair of the Brant Sports Complex Fundraising Committee.  He is committed to giving back to his community, promoting agriculture within the County of Brant, improving the County’s infrastructure and serving the public.
