Meet Councillor John Bell - Ward 3
Councillor John Bell and his wife, Audrey, moved to the County of Brant over 10 years ago.
He was born and raised in the United Kingdom where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science from Durham University, a Master of Science in Math from the University of Teesside and a Master of Business Administration from Henley Management College.
Councillor Bell was a Chartered Mechanical Engineer (the United Kingdom equivalent of a Canadian Professional Engineer). He worked for 32 years for Royal Dutch Shell in senior project management and business planning roles. In the course of his career, he lived and worked in the Netherlands, the Middle East, Scotland, England and Canada. He retired in 2009 as Vice President of Shell Canada (located in Calgary).
Upon retiring, Councillor Bell and Audrey chose to settle in Paris to be with close family. Councillor Bell quickly became part of the community. He is a Warden of St. James Church in Paris, a Board Member of Primacare Family Heath Team and Brant County Health Unit and he is an avid golfer. He was also a member of several municipal committees including the Committee of Adjustment, Economic Development Advisory and Brant Municipal Enterprises (and previously Brant County Power).
Councillor Bell was elected to the County of Brant Council in the fall of 2018. He is committed to sharing his experiences, skills and time to help the County of Brant thrive and maintain its character, attractiveness and heritage.
