Garbage and Recycling Collection Information and Schedule
Weekly Blue Box and Garbage collection is provided to all residential and commercial properties located on existing residential collection routes.

Collection information
- Please set your garbage and blue box out by 7:00 am on your collection day.
- The weekly garbage container set out limit is four (4) containers and unlimited blue box materials can be set out. Weight limit of 20kg (45 lbs) per container.
- County of Brant residents are able to put all of their acceptable blue box materials together loose, or co-mingled, into their blue box. No sorting of materials is required. For recycling information, visit the Recycling webpage.
- Blue Boxes ($8.00), Blue Box Lids ($3.50) and Composters ($30.00 ) are available for purchase at any County of Brant Customer Service Office or Solid Waste Facility
- A complimentary free Blue Box is provided to the owner of ‘newly built' single residential properties
- As a resident, it is your responsibility to dispose of solid waste in accordance with the County solid waste by-law. View the Solid Waste By-law (PDF) for details.

Holiday Collection
Curbside Collection will not occur on Christmas Day and New Years Day only. Curbside collection will occur on all other holidays.
During Christmas and New Year's Day, collection will happen on the following day and the remaining collection that week will subsequently move to the next day. (Example: Wednesdays collection will move to to Thursday, Thursday Collection will move to Friday, ect.)
2024 Holiday Schedule
- Wednesday, December 25: No collection. Collection for the remaining of the week will move one day. Wednesdays collection will be on Thursday, Thursdays collection will be on Friday and Fridays collection will be on Saturday, December 28.
- Wednesday, January 1: No collection. Collection for the remaining of the week will move one day. Wednesdays collection will be on Thursday, Thursdays collection will be on Friday and Fridays collection will be on Saturday, January 4.
