Acceptable Recycling Materials
County of Brant residents can place all acceptable blue box materials together—loose and co-mingled—into their blue box. There's no need to sort materials. See below for a list of acceptable and unacceptable items.

Recycling Containers
An acceptable "Recycling Container" includes blue boxes offered for sale by the County of Brant.
Blue Boxes and Blue Box Lids are available for purchase at any County of Brant Customer Service Office or Solid Waste Facility.
- Blue Box: $10.00
- Blue Box Lid: $3.50
- Please note that all sales of blue boxes are final; returns, exchanges, and refunds are not accepted.
If you have purchased a new construction home, a free blue box is available to you through Emterra at 1-888-597-1541 or customercareont@emterra.ca
Residents may also use the following containers for setting out blue box materials, provided they meet the criteria below:Rigid Plastic Containers
- Must not bend or give when lifted
- No taller than 21 inches and no wider than 24 inches
- Must have a rim around the top for lifting
- No lids or wheels allowed
Clear Plastic Bags
- Maximum size: 50 litres (13 gallons)
- Must be securely tied
Cardboard Boxes
- Must not bend or collapse when lifted
- No taller than 21 inches and no wider than 24 inches

The County of Brant's Blue Box Recycling Program is managed by Circular Materials and operated by Emterra Environmental, the company responsible for curbside recycling collection.
