Explore the best of what Brant has to offer in the Winter Months!

Parks and Trails (including Story Book Walks)

A reminder to the public that regular trail maintenance does not take place over the winter months and we ask that you use extra caution if visiting a park or trail, please visit the County of Brant Parks and Trail page for more information.

Storybook Walk

Storybook walks are currently posted at the following parks:

  • Mt. Pleasant Nature Park (755 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Mt. Pleasant ON)
  • Janice Hunt Memorial Park (3 The Key, Burford ON)

Stories are changed throughout the year; we post updates on our Facebook and Instagram feeds. You can use the Subscribe to this Page button (below) to receive automatic emails whenever we publish new updates here.

Please practice social distancing and respect other visitors' space while you explore.

Outdoor Rinks

Outdoor rinks are closed for the 2021/2022 season. 

Outdoor Rink Locations and Status:

  • Axton Park - 57 Schuyler St., Paris - CLOSED
  • Paris Optimist Park - 3 Catherine St., Paris - Skating only, no hockey - CLOSED
  • Syl Apps Community Centre - 51 William St., Paris -  CLOSED
  • Sunny Hill Park - 87 Sunnyside Dr., St.George - CLOSED
  • Mt. Pleasant Park - 555 Burtch Rd., Mt.Pleasant -  CLOSED

Outdoor Rink Information:

  • Please be advised that there is a 25 person gathering limit at all outdoor rinks.
  • Please be kind and courteous. A 45 minute time limit will be in place when others are waiting.  Please share this space with other members of the community.
  • Practice Physical Distancing and keep 6 feet/2 meters from others.  We ask that you come back later if physical distancing is not possible.
  • Wash or sanitize your hands before and after visiting the outdoor rink.
  • Face masks are highly recommended but not required.
  • No classes or lessons permitted.  
  • Use at your own risk - benches/picnic tables will not be sanitized.

Outdoor rinks are volunteer and weather dependent.  Please look back for updates on the opening of outdoor rinks.

We would like to thank all of the volunteers and staff that help to maintain these rinks!

Tobogganing Areas

Tobogganing is permitted at designated areas in the following locations:

Paris Area:

  • Bemrose Park - North side of hill only - 86 Whitlaw Way
  • Green Lane Sports Complex, 8 Green Lane
  • Grandville Park, 146 Grandville Circle

St. George

  • King William Park - East of pathway in the Park - 52 King William St
Tobogganing Rules
  • Maintain a physical distance of 6 feet/2 metres from anyone outside your household or cohort at all times
  • Follow all Ontario Public Health guidelines for gathering restrictions
  • These are unsupervised tobogganing areas and parental supervision is recommended for children
  • The use of safety helmets are strongly recommended
  • Hours of Operation: 8 am to 8 pm
  • Do not use with less than 6” or 15 cm of snow or after an ice storm
  • Have only the recommended number of passengers on a sled at one time
  • Wait until path is clear before starting down the hill
  • Do not build jumps or use jumps
  • Always sit or kneel facing forward. Never slide down head first or standing up
  • Quickly get out of the way when you reach the bottom
  • Keep to the side of the hill away from the slide paths when climbing back up the hill
  • Alcohol consumption is prohibited
  • Unsafe or hazardous activities can result in eviction from the property
