We are extremely fortunate to have a community so dedicated to the preservation and exhibition of the history of the County of Brant.  This can be experienced by visiting the museums throughout the County of Brant.

Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead

Visit the birthplace of the co-founder of the International Women's Institute Movement and travel back in time at this interactive historic house. Visitors have the unique opportunity to view original artifacts from the mid-1800s, dress in period costumes, play the antique organ and more. Special programs can be arranged for group visits including old-fashioned ice cream making or picnics on the front lawn.

Location: 359 Blue Lake Rd., St. George, ON
Phone: 519-448-1130

Visit the Adelaide Hunter Hoodless Homestead website.

Bell Homestead

In 1910, the house and surrounding lands became a memorial to Alexander Graham Bell's achievements in telephone history and doors were opened to the general public. Restoration and an extensive collection of Bell family heirlooms have revived the home's 1870s appearance. Visit and take a glimpse into the lifestyle led by this conservative, upper-middle class family.

Location: 94 Tutela Heights Rd., Brantford, ON
Phone: 519-756-6220

Visit the Bell Homestead website.

Burford Township Historical Society

The Burford Township Historical Society became an affiliate of the Ontario Historical Society in November 1986 and holds monthly meetings in Harley Hall, which is now known as the Burford Township Museum and Archives. Mainly focused on agriculture, the museum has changing displays throughout the year and is open to public by chance or appointment. Researchers are welcome to come and have our members help them with research, mainly local genealogy. The society also runs special events including Heritage Day in February, Strawberry Social in June and a Christmas Open House in December.

Location: 141 Harley Road, Harley, ON
Email: info@burfordtownshipmuseum.ca (email to book an appointment to visit)

Visit the Burford Township Museum website.
