Pizza Pizza
Great food, any way you slice it: Pizza Pizza Paris
Husband and wife Kulwinder and Ramandeep Sidhu of Pizza Pizza in downtown Paris have high hopes for their new restaurant—and their growing family.

Co-owner Ramandeep Sidhu has had a passion for pizza-making since she was a teen.
Ramandeep Sidhu was making pizzas long before her and her husband Kulwinder opened their downtown Paris Pizza Pizza franchise in May 2024.
As a postsecondary student in Mississauga, Ramandeep worked at multiple pizzerias where she developed a love for the craft.
When her brother, who owns a franchise in downtown North Bay, told her how successful his business was, Ramandeep and her husband jumped on the opportunity to open one of their own. With lots of experience in pizza making, it was ideal for the couple.
The process of becoming a franchisee involves an eight-to-10-week training course at Pizza Pizza’s head office in Etobicoke—Ramandeep says this was a breeze.
Already knowing a lot about the inner workings of a Pizza Pizza restaurant, the jump from employee to owner was relatively smooth.
“It was a little bit hard for us because we had a little baby around that time—but now we are good,” she said.
The Sidhu’s moved to Paris four months after opening the store, and say they’ve loved living in town so far.
“It’s so close to nature,” said Ramandeep. “We love to play with my daughter in Lions Park, sometimes we enjoy sitting by the dam.”
“There’s a lot of difference from Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga,” she said. “It’s a very small town.”
Ramandeep says the couple are eager to try paddling on the Grand River but haven’t had the time yet. Though they hope to get out on the water sometime this summer.

“I’m always trying to get the best pizzas to the customers”
Ramandeep says what makes Pizza Pizza different than the competition is their stone oven. Unlike many pizzerias, which use electric conveyor ovens, the Sidhu’s restaurant cooks directly on stone.
While this method takes a few minutes longer, Ramandeep says it's worth the wait.
“It’s slow cooking—same as you’d cook at home,” she says. “So, it takes a little longer, but it’s really nice cooking,”
That’s not all that sets Pizza Pizza apart.
The restaurant’s dough is made fresh every morning and never frozen. The same goes for all vegetable toppings, which are cut fresh every day.
The pizzeria also offers vegetarian, vegan, and halal options. Ramandeep says it’s her goal to serve all communities.
While the franchise is new, the Sidhu’s say they’ve received a warm welcome from the community—something that’s helped them get their business off the ground.
“We got a lot of support from the town,” said Ramandeep. “Like if I buy a product from this shop, they buy slices from us.”
One market the restaurant has tapped into is the Navacon construction crew operating the Dig.
“I’m a big Pizza Pizza fan,” said Ryan Murray, a heavy equipment operator for Navacon Construction. “I love Pizza.”
Murray says his team is often on the go, so Pizza makes for a great handheld lunch.

Ramandeep says though the Dig can be inconvenient, she’s excited for how downtown Paris will look when the project is complete.
The restaurant is even offering free delivery during the Dig. Customers can use the promo code “ROADWORK” when ordering online or over the phone to receive the offer.
For the Sidhu’s and their four employees, the restaurant is all about bringing the highest-quality pizza to Parisians.
And if you’ve tried a slice, it’s clear they’re succeeding.
