Church Street West, Scotland - Road Reconstruction Update

Please be advised that the completion date of the reconstruction of Church Street West in Scotland has been extended to Friday, December 6, 2024. Full details are listed below:

Location: Church Street West from Simcoe Street to 150m west of Augustus Street, Scotland

Work Dates: July – December 6, 2024

Note:

The reconstruction of Church Street West from Simcoe Street to 150m west of Augustus Street in Scotland is projected to begin in July 2024. The work will take approximately 14 weeks to complete. The scope of the project includes installation of new underground storm sewers, removal of existing sidewalks, concrete curbs and existing road structure, and installation of new curb and gutter, new wider sidewalks, and new asphalt.

One lane of traffic will remain open during working hours. Church Street West will remain open overnight and on weekends. Daytime traffic will be controlled by traffic control personnel. Every attempt will be made to maintain an asphalt surface on the open lane of traffic as long as possible during the project.

During construction, any privately-owned infrastructure (irrigation: sprinklers, sprinkler heads/hose, etc.), landscaping (gardens, etc.), and decorations in the right of way may be damaged. Residents are responsible to relocate, remove and/or repair anything that is in the right of way during construction. If any of the items listed above are located within the right of way and become damaged during construction, it is solely the resident’s responsibly to restore and/or repair. The County is only responsible for repairing driveways and lawns (topsoil and sod).
