County of Brant Launches Community Engagement for Community Safety and Well-Being Plan Update

Back to Search
Community Safety & Well-being Plan

The County of Brant is inviting residents to participate in the update of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan. This engagement process will provide community members with an opportunity to share their perspectives on safety, well-being, and social development priorities in the County.

"Ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents is a top priority for the County of Brant," said County of Brant Mayor, David Bailey. "This updated plan will be shaped by the voices of our community, and we encourage everyone to take part in the conversation. Your feedback will help us create a safer, healthier, and more connected County."

The Community Safety and Well-Being Plan focuses on key issues such as youth empowerment, mental health and addictions, building safe and connected communities, and fostering a strong sense of belonging for everyone. As required by the Community Safety and Policing Act, this plan is reviewed every five years to ensure that local services and programs continue to meet the evolving needs of residents.

A coordinated effort led by County of Brant staff, the updated plan is guided by the Community Safety and Well-Being Ad Hoc Committee, which includes the following organizations:

  • Brant OPP
  • Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board
  • Canadian Mental Health Association of Brant Haldimand Norfolk
  • Child and Family Services of Grand Erie
  • County of Brant Police Services Board
  • Grand Erie District School Board
  • Grand Erie Public Health
  • SOAR Community Services
  • Willowbridge Community Services

As part of the engagement process, residents will have multiple ways to participate, including an online, print and phone survey, focused discussions with identified groups, and in-person pop-up engagement events.

“We want to hear from as many people as possible, from all walks of life,” said County of Brant Community Safety and Well-Being Supervisor, Brian Grice. “Whether you’ve experienced challenges or have ideas to improve community supports, your insights will help shape a plan that meets the needs of all residents.”

The County of Brant encourages everyone to learn more and share their thoughts by visiting EngageBrant.
