Temporary Road Closure St. George Apple Fest 2023

NO PARKING/ NO STOPPING:

No Parking on High Street, King William Street and Victor Boulevard to facilitate passage of Emergency Vehicles as necessary (see below)

The following On Street Parking will be temporarily closed for the St. George Apple Fest on Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17 from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. daily:

  • High Street from Main Street South to Beverly Street West
  • High Street from Main Street South to Lorimer Street (South side ONLY)
  • South Street and Thompson Street from Main Street South to West Street
  • West Street from Thompson Street to High Street
  • Snowball Street from Beverley Street West to Church Avenue (East Side ONLY)
  • Church Avenue from Main Street North to Snowball Street (North Side ONLY)
  • Lillian Street from Church Avenue to Andrew Street (West Side ONLY)
  • King William Street from Beverly Street East to Victor Boulevard (West Side ONLY)
  • Victor Boulevard from King William Street to Main Street South (North side ONLY)
  • Beverly Street West from Main Street North to College Street

SPECIAL REQUESTS:

The following requests will take place on Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17 from 9:00am until 9:00pm daily, or earlier once the street has been cleared.

  • Local Traffic Only on Lorimer Street
  • Northbound truck traffic on St. George Road will be diverted around the village at German School Road to Brant Road/Highway 24 to Highway 5
  • Southbound truck traffic on St. George Road will be diverted at Howell Road to Brant Road/Highway 24 to German School Road

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES:

The following roads will be temporarily closed for the St. George Apple Fest. Emergency access only, barricades will be in place:

  • Main Street South from Beverley Street West to High Street starting on Friday September 15 at 6:00 p.m. until Sunday September 17 at 9:00 p.m. or earlier once the street has been cleared
  • Main Street South from High Street to Thompson Street as of Saturday September 16 at 6:00 a.m. until Sunday September 17 9:00 p.m. or earlier once the street has been cleared
  • High Street from Main Street South to Lorimer Street as of Saturday September 16 at 6:00 a.m. until Sunday September 17 at 9:00 p.m. or earlier once the street has been cleared
  • High Street from Main Street South to West Street as of Saturday September 16 at 6:00 a.m. until Sunday September 17 9:00 p.m. or earlier once the street has been cleared

PARKING LOT CLOSURE:

The following parking lots will be posted NO PARKING:

  • Sunnyside Parking Lot: Friday September 15 6:00 p.m. until Sunday September 17 9:00 p.m.
  • Municipal Parking Lot: Saturday September 16 6:00 a.m. until Sunday September 17 9:00 p.m. to coincide with High Street closure
  • United Church Parking Lot : a portion of the lot as marked Saturday September 16 and Sunday September 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to accommodate tour buses
  • 2 Beverly Street West Parking Lot: Friday September 15 6:00 p.m. until Sunday September 17 at 9:00 p.m. to coincide with the Main Street South closure

The intersection of Main Street and Beverly Street will remain open at all times.

These conditions are to be in effect until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday September 17, at which time all streets will be reopened and signs removed.

Note: Streets may be opened sooner than the scheduled time once they have been cleared of any debris and washed down.

PARK USE:
Snowball Park, Waterworks Park, Elliott Soccer Field, the grassy area north of the Bank of Montreal (BMO), the Municipal Parking Lot across from the Post Office, 2 Beverly Street West Parking Lot, and the Sunnyside Parking Lot.
