The County of Brant is developing a Stormwater Utility Program
Beginning today, Friday, March 8, the County of Brant is providing information and requesting feedback on the development of a new Stormwater Utility Program for defined stormwater utility areas directly benefiting from County operated and maintained stormwater infrastructure. This will support regulatory requirements, operation and maintenance needs, infrastructure improvements, as well as ensure protection of property and the environment.
"A stormwater utility is not only needed but crucial for the sustainable management of the County of Brant's stormwater,” said County of Brant General Manager of Operations, Rob Walton. “It will enable us to responsibly fund critical projects, such as building and maintaining stormwater infrastructure, implementing green infrastructure solutions, and enable us to protect our environment, public health, and property from the impacts of stormwater runoff.”
The public is invited to visit the Engage Brant website at www.EngageBrant.ca/Stormwater to learn more about stormwater management and the Stormwater Utility Program, give their feedback through an online survey and interactive map, as well as share questions about the development of a new Stormwater Utility Program. Paper copies of the survey are also available at County of Brant Customer Service Offices and for those that prefer, the survey can also be completed over the phone by calling 1.855.44BRANT (1.855.442.7268). Engagement closes on Friday, April 5, at 4:30 pm.
County of Brant Staff are also hosting the following Public Information Sessions where they will provide displays that further explain the process and project. An audio/video presentation will begin at 6:30 pm on both dates and staff will be on-hand for discussion and questions.
