Wednesday, February 4 is Winter Walk to School Day!
We’re encouraging students and families to walk, roll, and stay active—even during the colder months. Choosing active travel in winter helps build lifelong healthy habits, supports mental well-being, and keeps our school communities connected and thriving.
Winter Walking Safety Tips:
- Dress in warm layers, including hats and mittens
- Wear footwear with good traction to prevent slips
- Choose bright or reflective clothing to stay visible
- Take shorter steps and watch for icy spots
- Walk together and use safe routes and crossings
A winter walk is a great way to get fresh air, boost energy for the school day, and start the morning feeling positive—all while reducing traffic around schools and caring for our environment.
Bundle up, step outside, and celebrate winter movement with us!
