West River Street Reconstruction 2024 – Temporary Road Closure

Please be advised of a temporary road closure taking place on West River Street at William Street Intersection. The road closure is expected to last from 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 2 until 7:00 am on Thursday, October 3. Full details are listed below:

Location: West River Street at William Street Intersection

Work Dates: Wednesday, October 2, 5:00 pm until Thursday, October 3, 7:00 am (or sooner when work has been completed – as early as the evening of October 2)

Work performed by: BEECH Infrastructure Group Ltd. for County of Brant

Reason: Full road reconstruction including replacement of watermain, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, and road resurfacing

Details:

• There will be a lane open from William Street to access West River Street southbound 
• Access to 18 through 40 West River Street from Mechanic Street or William Street
• One lane of traffic open to the dead end of William Street to provide access to the residents that live at 38/40 West River Street
• All other addresses on West River will have to access to their entrances from Charlotte Street or from Broadway Street West
• The intersection will reopen when work is complete
• Non-local motorists are encouraged to take alternative traffic route
