Getting a Business Licence
Apply to the licencing officer at the County Administration Office in Burford to get a business licence.
Business licences are required for:
Automobile Wrecking Yards |

Mobile Refreshment Sales |
- Selling refreshments to the public from a vehicle, cart or structure that has not been assessed as commercial
- Includes but not limited to: catering trucks, chip wagons, hot dog carts and ice-cream vendors
- Does not include self-serve vending machines

Peddlers |
- Includes anyone selling goods or services or taking orders for future delivery of goods and services through a specific location sale or by door-to-door sales
- Does not include leaving catalogues or advertising material at premises where no direct personal contact with any occupant happens
- Rules in the business licencing bylaw apply, plus there are specific requirements in Schedule 2 - Peddlers
- Under some circumstances, exemptions may apply

Peddler Licence |
- A peddler licence is needed to sell goods or services/take orders for future delivery of goods or services
- The selling can take place in a specific location, within a fixed period of time no longer than six weeks or through door-to-door solicitation
