The County of Brant is home to the Biggars Lane Landfill and Paris Transfer Station for solid waste and recycling disposal/drop off. Staff is available at transfer and landfill stations to help you find the appropriate areas for your recyclables and waste.
Please note the following:
- County staff working at drop off areas and interacting with the public will be practicing social distancing (i.e. maintaining 2 metres separation between themselves and other people)
- A maximum of 10 vehicles will be permitted on the Paris Transfer Station site at the same time
- The County prefers the use of debit and credit payments at the waste facilities. Tap is encouraged
Biggars Lane Landfill Site
This landfill is where you can drop off large loads (i.e. more than a fully loaded pick-up truck box or equivalent). These are not accepted at the transfer station and must be taken to Biggars Lane Landfill.

Paris Waste Transfer and Recycling Station
This transfer station is operated to allow residents the opportunity to drop off small amounts of solid wastes and recycling items. Loads larger than the equivalent of a full pick-up truck box are to be disposed of at the Biggars Lane Landfill.

Fees and Charges
Current rates are available on the fees and charges schedule.
Payment by credit (Visa or MasterCard) or debit are preferred. Credit accounts can be set up for IC & I users.
Sorting
Recyclable and reusable materials must be sorted. Doing so conserves valuable land fill space and generates revenue which directly offsets the cost of operating your waste management facilities.
Users are required to sort the following materials for recycling and reuse:
- Cardboard
- Some electronic wastes (for a current list of acceptable electronic wastes please visit www.recyclemyelectronics.ca/on/
- White goods (fees apply for CFC removal and handling)
- Tires
- Batteries
- Propane tanks
- Brush and yard waste (must be de-bagged from plastic bags)
- Clean white bulk Styrofoam
- Construction and demolition material:
- Rubble (ie. asphalt, concrete and masonry)
- Metal (ie. iron, steel, brass, aluminum, copper, bath tubs, hardware)
- Wood (clean, painted, stained, particle board, wood scrap, pallets/crates, counter tops, wood furniture). No pressure treated wood.
- Drywall
- Asphalt shingles
- Porcelain/toilets
- Electrical wiring
- Floor tiles
- Windows/doors
- Please note: Grass clippings are banned from curbside collection and disposal at the waste management facilities
- All blue box materials - recycling carts are provided
There is no charge for blue box materials at the Waste Management Facility
Notice: All loads to be tarped to reduce debris on roadside. Loads that are not secured may be refused.
