The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOH-LTC) is the provincial body that overlooks land and air ambulance in the province of Ontario. The MOH is responsible for some of our funding, training directives and certification. Before 1998 the MOH directed and funded all Land Ambulance services in Ontario. In August 2000, the County of Brant Paramedic Service took over these duties from a private company.
Air Ambulance Service
Ontario's Air Ambulance service was established in 1977 by the Ministry of Health to transport critically ill patients to hospital. During the same year, the MOH started a training system for critical care flight paramedics, who perform advanced life support and controlled medical acts during air transport. The County of Brant Ambulance Service works with these medics and can connect the benefits of this service to our citizens. Learn more about Ornge (formerly Ontario's Air Ambulance Service).
