Our taxicab system stays safe and affordable through our taxicab bylaw.
In the County of Brant, taxis can charge a $4.00 base rate with each additional km costing $2.00/km. Taxis can charge a maximum of $30/hour for waiting time, per stop, charged in $0.10 increments. There is a Taxi Zone Schedule, please view the full taxicab bylaw for the map and charges.

In order to serve you better, anyone applying for a taxicab license should set up and appointment with the Licensing Administrator, Julie McKeen, at 519.44-BRANT or julie.mckeen@brant.ca
All taxicab owners and operators are required to:
- Install a number on front fender and a roof sign indicating the business name
- Carry an authorized taxicab driver identification card, a County of Brant fare card, a taxicab licence and a vehicle identification card
- Keep all taxicabs in good mechanical condition
- Keep taxicabs smoke-free
- Not charge for loading a passenger's luggage or parcels
- Not charge for loading and securing wheelchairs
- Keep meter clearly visible to any passenger, day or night
- Upon request, provide the passenger with a receipt
