Wastewater
The County of Brant Wastewater System collects and treats wastewater generated by users connected to the system. This includes residential, commercial, institutional and industrial properties.
The system includes service connection pipes (connecting private property lines to mainline sewer), mainline sewers, manholes, pumping stations/ force mains and treatment facilities.
The County of Brant operates four wastewater systems. These systems are located in Paris, Cainsville, St. George and the Industrial Park located by the Brantford Airport. The systems consist of approximately 90 km of sanitary sewer, more than 1,700 manholes, more than 5,600 service connections, six sanitary sewage pumping stions and four wastewater treatment facilities.

The Ontario Clean Water Agency is currently contracted by the County of Brant to operate the County's wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations and provide Overall Responsible Operator and Operator in Charge services for the wastewater collection systems.
Sanitary Sewer Use Bylaw
The County of Brant wastewater treatment facilities are designed to service households with normal domestic wastewater. They cannot efficiently remove the toxic pollutants contained in some of the water produced by business, industries and institutions.
Discharges that do not meet the requirements outlined in the Sanitary Sewer Use Bylaw may have serious consequences for public health and safety, municipal infrastructure and the environment.

Your water goes out to sewer lines underground and is collected into larger lines that run under the roadway or boulevard and make its way to the treatment facilities. |

What can I safely pour down the sink or toilet? |
