It is anticipated that Garbage and Recycling in some of today’s collection areas will not be collected by 5pm today. Collection Crews are working diligently and anticipate to complete collection today. If your material has not been picked up by 8:00 pm tonight, please either leave your materials curbside overnight, or remove it and place it back at curbside by 7:00 am tomorrow morning, and it will be collected by the end of day.  A Cold Weather Alert has been issued for Brant - January 31

The Brant County Health Unit has issued a Cold Weather Alert for Brant.

Everyone is at risk during very cold weather. In temperatures of -15C or colder, unprotected skin can freeze in less than 30 minutes and the risk of developing hypothermia is high.

The BCHU offers these tips to prevent cold injuries, such as hypothermia and frostbite:

• Wear several layers of clothing and make sure the outer layer protects you from both wind and wetness.
