Grasscycling

Studies show that grasscycling can reduce fertilizer needs by up to 30% and helps your lawn retain valuable moisture. It also strengthens your lawn by limiting sunlight and air exposure to weeds, cutting down on the need for weed treatments. When done properly, grass clippings are barely noticeable and usually break down within three days.

Plus, think of the time and effort you’ll save by not having to bag those clippings!

Tips for successful grasscycling:

  • Use a mulching blade and keep your mower blade(s) sharp.
  • Set your mower height to 6 cm (2.5").
  • Cut no more than one-third of the grass blade height at a time.
  • Mow frequently enough to produce small clippings, which decompose faster.
  • Mow when the lawn is dry to prevent clumping.
  • Leaving clippings on your lawn returns much-needed moisture and nutrients to the soil.
