Community paramedicine is a relatively new and evolving healthcare model. It allows paramedics to operate in expanded roles by assisting with public health and primary healthcare and preventive services to underserved at risk, and/or identified populations in the community.

Calling an ambulance won’t get you a shorter wait time in the Emergency Department. Cases are triaged by urgency, not how you arrive to the hospital.
