Grand River Street North Upgrades
Major upgrades on Grand River Street North in Paris are kicking off soon, backed by over $9 million in provincial funding to save local taxpayers money.
What's Happening and Where
- Work begins on Ann Wilson Way before moving to the main stretch between Watts Pond Road and Silver Street (work will not begin on Grand River St N until this phase of the Downtown Dig is complete – which is expected in a couple of weeks!).
- Two-way traffic stays open on Grand River Street North while crews work.
- Area shops, restaurants and services remain completely open for business.
Why Now?
- Over $9 million in provincial grants covers the cost without heavy taxpayer burden.
- The province requires project completion by the end of 2028.
- Designed to support north Paris for the next 30 years, including a new public elementary school and fire hall.
Key Improvements
- Widening to four lanes for smoother traffic.
- Four modern roundabouts featuring safe pedestrian crossings.
- A brand-new multi-use path, sidewalk, and upgraded streetlights.
