Lest We Forget

Downtown Paris is looking more beautiful and meaningful than ever! Have you seen the new Veterans commemorative crosswalk at the intersection of Grand River Street North and Mechanic Street?

Just steps away from the Paris Cenotaph, this beautiful tribute serves as a powerful, daily reminder of the courage, service and sacrifices of our local veterans. Installed in partnership with the County of Brant, the crosswalk also coincides with a historic milestone: the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion.

For a full century, the Legion has supported veterans and their families. In Paris, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 29 is proud to be one of Canada's original chartered branches.

To learn more about upcoming activities at the Paris Branch, visit parislegion29.ca or follow the Paris Legion (https://www.facebook.com/legionbranch29) Facebook page.

We also encourage you to follow our other local Legion branches for updates on events and activities:

• Royal Canadian Legion Branch 543 – Burford-Cathcart-Harley – Join them this Saturday, October 24 for the 100^th Anniversary Open House
• New South Brant Legion – Branch 90
• St. George Legion – Branch 605

You don't have to be a member to participate - everyone is welcome!
