Project Update - Dundas St East, Paris Road and Oak Park Road

This multi-year project continues to make great progress as we replace aging underground infrastructure. With the major underground work nearing completion, we are one step closer to the final result: a modernized roadway that improves functionality for drivers, pedestrians, businesses, and future employment growth in the area.

What’s next?

Governors Road will be reduced to one-way on or after October 27 for the sanitary sewer installation. Westbound traffic will be maintained.  Eastbound traffic will be detoured. We will keep you posted about the timing of this detour.

Upcoming Construction Timeline:

By the end of 2026, the ongoing infrastructure project on Dundas Street East, Paris Road, and Oak Park Road in Paris is scheduled to finish Stage 3 (running from September through late fall 2026), wrapping up major underground services and foundational work. Stage 4 is then slated for spring 2027 to finish surface treatments.

Planned Work by the End of 2026 (Stage 3)

  • Complete underground utility and pipe installations
  • Finish sanitary forcemain installations along Paris Road and Oak Park Road (targeted through October 2026 with commissioning in early November)
  • Transition out of major excavation phases leading into late fall 2026

Remaining Work for 2027 (Stage 4)

  • Place the final surface asphalt layer
  • Complete any remaining minor surface works and site restoration

Note: There is a possibility that some works planned for 2026 (storm sewer connection) may need to move to Spring 2027. We will be keep you informed.
