City of Brantford and County of Brant Announce Updated Proposed Airport Boundary Adjustment Map in Response to Public Feedback
The City of Brantford and the County of Brant are pleased to announce an update to the proposed Brantford Municipal Airport boundary adjustment map, reflecting changes made directly in response to public feedback received throughout the public engagement process.
Following extensive public engagement in May and June, both City and County Councils have agreed to a revised map that removes 469 acres of agricultural land from the originally proposed transfer area. The updated map, now consisting of 848 acres versus the original 1,317 acres also removes lands associated with a transportation corridor being explored as part of the City of Brantford's West Brant Access Route Environmental Assessment, a study that remains ongoing and separate from the airport boundary adjustment process.
The revisions to the proposed boundary adjustment map were informed by the feedback received through multiple public channels, including questions and comments submitted through the Let's Talk Brantford online engagement portal, input gathered at the two public open houses held at Walter Gretzky Municipal Golf Course on June 11, 2026, and the emails and calls received from residents directly by both the City of Brantford and the County of Brant. Both municipalities are committed to ensuring that public input plays a meaningful role in shaping proposals of this significance, and the updated map is a direct reflection of that commitment.
Residents are encouraged to review the updated proposed boundary adjustment map, now available at LetsTalkBrantford.ca/Airport. The Let's Talk Brantford engagement portal has reopened to receive public feedback on the revised proposal, and community members are invited to submit their questions and comments through the platform.
In addition to the online engagement opportunity, two statutory public meetings will be held to provide additional public input opportunities to further inform both Councils' consideration of the updated proposal. The City of Brantford will hold its statutory public meeting on Monday, July 27th at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Brantford City Hall (58 Dalhousie St), followed by the County of Brant’s statutory public meeting on Wednesday, July 29 at 6:00 p.m. in the County of Brant Council Chambers (7 Broadway St. W, Paris). Details regarding both meetings, including how to participate, will be communicated publicly in advance of the meeting dates.
Both the City of Brantford and the County of Brant thank the many residents, landowners, and community members who took the time to share their perspectives throughout this process. Your feedback has made a meaningful difference to this proposal, and both municipalities remain committed to transparency, accountability, and continued public engagement as this process moves forward.
