Phase 2 Scotland Multi-road Reconstruction Begins Spring 2027

The County of Brant is planning the next phases of road reconstruction in the community of Scotland. This multi-year project will replace aging infrastructure, improve road conditions and drainage, and help maintain safety and mobility throughout the community.

What work is planned?

Depending on the street and phase of construction, improvements may include:

• New road surfaces and curbs
• New storm sewers to improve drainage
• New and improved sidewalks and crosswalks
• Traffic calming measures to help improve safety

The work will take place in phases over several years.

Phase 1: Completed in 2025

• Church Street West, from Augustus Street to Simcoe Street

Thank you to everyone who shared feedback during Phase 1. Your input helped shape the final design for the Church Street West reconstruction and provided valuable insight as we continue planning improvements in Scotland.

Phase 2: 2027 to the end of 2028

Phase 2 is subject to the outcome of the Master Environmental Servicing Plan and is expected to include:

• Queen Street South
• Elgin Street
• Church Street East
• Brant Street
• Marcus Street

Phase 3: 2029 to the end of 2030

Phase 3 is expected to include:

• Queen Street North
• Isaac Street
• Whitney Street
• Church Street West, from Maple Avenue to Augustus Street

Visit the Open House this fall to learn more

Before plans for Phase 2 are finalized, the County will host a Public Open House later this fall.

The Open House will give you an opportunity to learn about the proposed work, ask questions, speak with the project team and provide input. Just as community feedback helped inform Phase 1, your input will help the project team as plans for Phase 2 are developed.
